The term “WiFi” means Wireless Fidelity. Wi-Fi is a standard wireless connectivity in our generation. It connects multiple devices to each other with WiFi connectivity. WiFi, it is a wide area networking (WAN). WiFi, such as a computer, tablet, Smartphone, joy stick, and other digital accessories can easily connect to the internet via wireless access point. WiFi is making using IEEE 802.11 family. Over 700 million people use this connectivity. If you have a computer with WiFi device and have a wireless router then you access the internet connection without any wire. And also you get more freedom from letch of wire. Its range, data transmit speed, and its frequency is depending on the WiFi device category.
Type of Wi-Fi: the various type of WiFi is available in our generation. The WiFi are separated with its data transfer speed, range, frequency and its manufacture date.
IEEE 802.11-(a), it is a protocol name of a WiFi device. It connects other WiFi enabled device to each other. The maximum data transfer speed of this type of WiFi device upto 54Mbps and its work at 5GHz frequency. This device did not work properly, if the distance between two device getter than 20Meter that means its workable range upto 20Meter. This type of WiFi device has error detection and correction capability.
IEEE 802.11-(b) it is a protocol name of a WiFi device. It connects more than one WiFi device to each other. Its maximum raw data transfer speed upto 11Mbps and this type of device work at 2.4GHz frequency. In 2000, first this type of device appears in the market.
IEEE 802.11 (g): In 2003 the third modulation of WiFi is 802.11 (g) lunches in market, it works with 2.4 GHz frequency and its maximum data transfer rate is 54Mbps. This protocol of WiFi is faster, secure and smarter than IEEE 802.11a or IEEE802.11b.
IEEE 802.11 (n): it improves speed, range upon the previews IEEE 802.11 a, b and g. IEE 802.11 (n) work at 2.4 GHz and the lesser used 5 GHz bands. The maximum data transfer speed of this WiFi protocol is 150Mbps and its approximate workable indoor range is 70 meter. It also supports MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) facilities.

Using a WiFi wireless router, a person can connect his laptop with a WiFi router and access internet connection to get more freedom for wire. WiFi connectivity is use as wide area networking. The range of this type of WiFi is widely 20 meter or more. Now WiFi system is so important for this modern generation that they want to enjoy freely through this WiFi connectivity system.

Fi enabled computer are connect to each other with-out any access point and you can share file to each other. This method is called ad hoc mode of Wi-Fi transmission. In this mode the maximum data transfer speed is 11 Mbps (802.11b), it is disadvantage of ad hoc method.
